2008 OHIO CAMPAIGN FINANCE REPORTING DEADLINES
A Designation of Treasurer form must be filed prior to receiving contributions or making expenditures .
Candidates file based on when they run. PACs and PCEs file based on their ballot related activity.
2007 ANNUAL January 31, 2008 to disclose activity through December 31, 2007
PRE-PRIMARY February 21, 2008 to disclose activity through February 13, 2008
POST-PRIMARY April 11, 2008 to disclose activity through April 4, 2008
SEMIANNUAL July 31, 2008 to disclose activity through June 30, 2008
PRE-GENERAL October 23, 2008 to disclose activity through October 15, 2008
POST-GENERAL December 12, 2008 to disclose activity through December 5, 2008
2008 ANNUAL January 30, 2009* to disclose activity through December 31,2008
The 2007 Annual is not required of any entity for which a 2007 Post-General is required.
The 2008 Semiannual is not required of any entity for which a 2008 Post-Primary is required.
The above deadlines are based on the statewide primary and general election dates of March 4, 2008 and November 4, 2008 , respectively; activity in regard to special election dates or municipal primary elections on different dates may require additional reports.
ADDITIONAL FILING FOR STATEWIDE AND GENERAL ASSEMBLY CANDIDATES
Permitted funds/excess funds: January 11, 2008
to reflect disposal of excess funds or excess aggregate contributions
Declaration of Filing Day Finances or applicable "Waiver": January 11, 2008
to report the total amount of money and campaign assets on hand at petition filing day
Monthly reports are due of any statewide, not general assembly, candidate to report contributions received during the months of July, August and September. In 2008, these reports are due on the following dates:

Monthly reports are filed independently of any other report. The contributions listed in these reports are not repeated in any subsequent report.
*ORC 3517.10 (A)(3) requires the Annual report to be filed no later than the last business day of January. In 2009, the last business day is Friday, January 30.
